Top 5 Films of 2011 (So Far)

August 14, 2011 at 16:42 (Film) ()

We’re more than half way through the year (a bit too far for my liking) but I’ve just caught up with Filmspotting’s  Top 5 Films of 2011 (So Far) show and Mark Kermode has just posted his best of the year so far video blog, so it’s probably about time to do mine.

So, in reverse order

5. Tree Of Life
4. Black Swan
3. Senna
2. Blue Valentine
1. Submarine

Honourable mentions: Tree Of Life, X-Men First Class, The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec, Mary And Max,  Attack The Block, Source Code, Cave Of Forgotten Dreams, 127 Hours, Animal Kingdom, Never Let Me Go, True Grit, Into Eternity, Cameraman.

I should mention that I still haven’t seen the end of Blue Valentine (due to a power cut at the cinema) but it’s hard to imagine any ending that would ruin my enjoyment of the film.

I’d also like to list the films I regret not getting round to seeing but I can’t think of any at the moment.
